Our very own social media director, David Hutnik, recently completed a nine-month long, intensive leadership program put on by the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce and Brunswick Community College. Only eight applicants were selected for this year’s program, and we are proud that David was one of them!
Over the span of nine months, David attended all-day seminars & events for one Wednesday a month. Each session focused on learning through immersion into Brunswick County. Topics and aspects that were covered include, government, history, economic growth and tourism as it pertains to our home county.
One of the major tasks that David and his group completed was a service project for Brunswick County non-profits. David and his team were originally tasked with selecting one local non-profit and developing their service project from there. However, he quickly realized there wasn’t a wealth of information regarding these non-profits. Some institutions he and his team had never heard of, others didn’t supply appropriate contact information. David quickly decided to utilize his skills and our team at InterCoastal Net Designs to design and build a website, helpbrunswick.com. The mission behind this charity project? To increase awareness of volunteer opportunities and available support in Brunswick County.
Help Brunswick is a website, integrated by location, need and volunteer opportunity, allowing those who want to volunteer or those who are in need to easily search for their respective non-profit. We are so proud of David and his recent graduation from this outstanding program. We are also happy that ICND was able to pitch in and help out our lovely home, Brunswick County.
